Training your pet to use the "Dog Depot Pet Potty"
is easy. They should be naturally attracted to the grass, so when they
do use it the 1st few times, simply make a big deal of how happy you are
(good boy, good girl, clap, etc.) and give them a special treat. (We
used a piece of chicken.) Now that they're using their potty on a more
regular basis we still applaud them for doing the right thing (even in
the middle of the night) just to reinforce it. You can just see how
proud they are when they run back to you for hugs and kisses. We're now
actually quite confident that they will use their potties all the time,
but it's so much fun having them run to us for their hugs and kisses
that we really don't want to stop.
If your pet needs additional incentive early on in his/her use of the
pet potty, try putting a cloth or pee pad with their own urine just
under the grass for 2 or 3 days. (New puppies frequently learn very
quickly by doing this)
